David Teniers the Younger was born on December 15, 1610 in Antwerp. He was partly trained by his father and in 1632 became a member of the Antwerp guild. In 1637 he married Anne, the daughter of Jan Brueghel the Elder. As early as 1647, Teniers the Younger was responsible for the collection of works of art by Archduke Leopold-William of Habsburg, governor of the South Netherlands. He also participated in the creation of the Antwerp Academy of Fine Arts in 1664. David Teniers le Jeune died on April 25, 1690 in Brussels.

David Teniers the Younger was a 17th century Flemish painter. His famous works are "Ermite en méditation dans une grotte", "La tentation de Saint-Antoine" et "Les bulles de savon".

David Teniers the Younger was particularly linked to Peter Paul Rubens, Adriaen Brouwer and Adam Elsheimer.
